Fleeting Notes

It’s hard to remember everything that we learn, which like most people is a common thing to happen to everyone. So the question we are supposed to ask is what can we do to retain as much information as we can in the first place.

What can you do so you don’t have to go back to your notes again and again. Here are a few simple ways we can do it.

Associations

  1. Associations can happen in many different ways.
  2. If you have tons of information on any given page, you can categorize them down to 2 or 3 groups depending on their characteristics, this is called chunking.
  3. If you have a giant paper with lots of info, you can associate it with a single image, like an infographic this is called visualization.

There are 2 basic ways to simplify complex concepts.

Simplify the concept

  1. The simplest way to simplify a concept is to break it down so that even a child can understand it.
  2. You should avoid using fancy language, complicated key terms, details.

Associate The Ideas To Something Similar

  1. You can do this by taking the new unknown information that you just learned and connect it with the information that you already know.
  2. A way to make these connections is by using familiar imagery, analogies, or stories.
  3. Using associations can make mind mapping and flashcards way more efficient.
